Questions Over 50s Walkers Ask
Am I fit enough to walk? add_circle
Most of our over-50s walkers haven't trained specially for their walk. If you can comfortably walk for an hour or two and enjoy being outdoors, you'll be fine. We recommend choosing an Easy or Moderate tour for your first walk. No need to prove anything — just choose a pace that suits you.
How far do I walk each day? add_circle
Easy trails average 12-15km per day. Moderate trails are 15-20km. You're walking at your own pace with no time pressure, so you can take as many breaks as you need. Many walkers tell us they walk slower than they expected and that's absolutely fine — the views are better that way.
What if I need to stop early one day? add_circle
You can stop whenever you want. Your B&B knows you're coming, so there's no pressure. Many walkers take a day off during their holiday to rest or explore a village more thoroughly. Your GPS will guide you to your accommodation from anywhere on the trail.
Can I walk solo? add_circle
Absolutely. Most of our over-50s walkers travel solo. You walk at your own pace and meet other walkers and locals at the B&Bs each evening. It's a wonderful way to have an adventure and make new friends. Many of our customers return year after year and tell us they've made friendships that last.
Do I need special training? add_circle
No special training required. We recommend building up your walking fitness in the weeks before your tour. Take regular walks of increasing distance in your local area. Broken-in walking boots are essential — practice in them before you go.
